Athens Community Career Academy

Athens Community Career AcademyThis charter program offers a unique experience to all Clarke County high school sophomores, juniors and seniors. A partnership between the Clarke County School District, University of Georgia, Athens Technical College and One Athens, the ACCA gives students the opportunity to take career-themed classes, participate in internships and enroll in college courses. Click here for more information.

Dual Enrollment

Dual Enrollment provides Athens-Clarke County high school students the opportunity to take college-level courses and earn concurrent credit toward a high school diploma and a college degree. The program eases the transition from high school to college and increases the number of high school graduates who are college or career ready.

Career-Based Learning Experience Programs

The School-to-Career program is an off-campus applied-learning experience for juniors and seniors that combines school studies with work-based learning experiences. This includes apprenticeship programs that focus on high-skill, high-wage and high-demand industries and on the student's chosen career area.

 

University of Georgia 

The Georgia Center for Continuing Education

A unit of the University of Georgia's Office of the Vice President for Public Service and Outreach, the Georgia Center for Continuing Education provides innovative lifelong learning opportunities through its continuing education programs.

Coorporative Extension

A county, state and federal funded organization that extends lifelong learning to the people of Georgia through unbiased, research-based education in agriculture, the environment, communities, youth and families.

Business and Industry Services

Provides customized training and workforce development programs. Programs are available to business, industry and non-profit organizations that are seeking to increase the skill level of their existing employees. Their customized training is tailored to meet specific needs and their classes include a variety of subject areas to include safety, computer workshops, first-aid, CPR, management and supervisory development, maintenance improvements, quality systems such as Six Sigma, and forklift training.

Continuing Education

Offers a variety of continuing professional education, licensing and license renewal training, personal enrichment and community education classes for both business and non-business related participants. They offer online classes that can be completed at home or anywhere the internet can be accessed at www.ed2go.com/atcga. These programs enhance the quality of life in our communities, allow our partners to maintain a competitive skill advantage, and further complement our workforce development programs.

 

QuickStart Technical College System of Georgia
For more than 40 years, Quick Start has provided customized workforce training free-of-charge to qualified businesses in Georgia. Today, the program is one of the state’s key assets for supporting new and expanding industries. Quick Start delivers training in classrooms, mobile labs or directly on the plant floor, wherever it works best for a company. To ensure that all economic development personnel are prepared with the latest skills and strategies for workforce training, Quick Start also administers an ongoing program for professional development, the Certified Economic Developer Trainer program.
