A public-private agency created to work with the Athens-Clarke County Unified Government, The Athens Industrial Development Authority, Economic Development Authority, and the University of Georgia in partnership and located in the Athens-Clarke Chamber of Commerce. This partnership promotes job creation and capital investment through the attraction of new businesses and existing business expansion.

EDF Successes

Caterpillar, bringing 1,400 jobs and $200 million in investments, earns Athens-Clarke and Oconee counties Georgia's "Deal of the Year Award" given by the Georgia Economic Developers Association for outstanding achievement in the location/expansion of a business in Georgia.

Healthcare Expansion

Athens-Clarke County manufacturer Ethicon will create 75 jobs, invest $185 million. “We were fortunate to assist Ethicon with their expansion efforts said Peggy Chapman, EDF President/CEO. “Eithicon's creation of new jobs along with captial investment will have a major impact to ACC and the region."
